HOLIDAYS FOR THE MORE MATURE TRAVELLER.

With more time to spend planning and going on holiday, we are now in the prime of lives. (Although it may not always feel that way!) The choices are endless, whether it's a cruising holiday, a beach holiday, city breaks or safari there is plenty to choose from. Holidays aimed specifically at the more mature traveller are becoming more and more common place, with tour operators such as SAGA providing holidays to any destination, that are far more suited to their clients than the average package holidays.

You've had plenty of holidays now, whether in the UK or abroad and we're sure you know what type of holiday you are looking for - but are maybe having difficulty finding it on the internet.

Traveldata has teamed up with some of the best-known holiday companies in the UK to provide you with a personalised service. Below you can read about the most popular types of holiday for the more mature traveller. If you fill the form in, we can arrange for someone to call you and discuss your exact requirements.

Coach Holidays

Coach holidays can take you anywhere; in the UK, Europe or even to Australia and New Zealand, they are a great way of travelling anywhere. Sight seeing trips are often free of charge (included in the price of the holiday), although extra trips can be arranged at a cost. The coaches that are used nowadays are of a high standard, with air conditioning, seatbelts, TV and Video, toilets and washrooms etc. They really do allow their passengers to travel in style.

Booking with coach companies such as Wallace Arnold also ensures that you don't pay a supplement in any hotels in the UK if you are travelling alone.

Cruises

A cruise is a fantastic holiday for anyone, with a wide range of activities on board for those who wish, and a great place to meet fellow travellers and make friends. Entertainment is provided in the evening, whether it is a show, dancing or the casino there is always something for all tastes. It is possible to decide on the features that are important to you, if you are single and want to be able to dance before and after dinner, or want to be seated on a table with other single people of the same sex, cruises can accommodate all manner of requirements. Essentially cruises allow passengers, in one trip, to experience a selection of different countries in style.

Breaks in the UK

If travelling further a field doesn't appeal, then there are still many beautiful places to visit in the UK. There are several hotel chains that offer 3 /4 night breaks exclusively for adults. These hotels are often situated in stunning properties surrounded by exquisite scenery. Warner hotels for example also provide entertainment (day and evening) as well as half board inclusive in the cost. Great value for money!

City Breaks in Europe or USA

Taking a city break is a wonderful way of experiencing the sights and sounds of some of the beautiful cities around the world. Often 3 / 4 nights, city breaks include information on excursions and places of interest to visit. Whether it is one of the European cities such as Barcelona or Rome, or in the USA in New York or San Francisco, they are highly recommended by those who have been, and provide a great escape for a few nights.

Package Holidays

The most common way to travel abroad is still the package holiday. Holiday companies such as SAGA offer great deals for the more mature traveller to many destinations around the world. They provide holidaymakers with good accommodation, transfers, excursions and friendly holiday reps who are there to assist with any queries whilst away.

Because they are aimed at certain age groups, it means holidaymakers are guaranteed a good time, with people of similar ages and interests. SAGA also negotiate with hoteliers all the time in order to try to eliminate single supplements for those travelling alone, and are able to offer 'supplement free' holidays in the UK and abroad (subject to availability).
